L’Kai graduated from the International Academy of Beauty in Scottsdale AZ in 1970 and has been behind the chair ever since. After graduating he went on to attend the United Academy of Beauty for 3 months. He then went to Vidal Sassoon School for 3 months to study advanced haircutting. 5 years later he went back to the International Academy and received his instructors license. Not only has he continued to advance in his personal education he has had the opportunity to work as an educator teaching many students advanced hair cutting, color and relaxers. After working in Dallas and Arizona L’Kai moved to Colorado in 1990 and has worked in Denver ever since. He was the hairdresser for Colorado’s channel 9 news anchors from 1993 to 98. L'Kai was the guy they called when celebrities and anchors visited Denver. He even did Ann Curry’s hair. L’Kai has retained many of his clients for 10-20 years. He believes in providing exceptional service to each client from the moment they step into his salon to the moment they leave. He acknowledges clients have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a stylist and wants to give them a reason to come back to him.
