Beauty Trends to Watch For in 2023

Ready to become your own boss and invest in a salon lease in 2023? If you’re looking forward to maximizing your potential in a new location, staying on top of the latest beauty trends is crucial. Whether you’re a hairstylist, esthetician, or lash and brow specialist, you (and your clients) can benefit from paying close attention to what’s trending. Your clients trust your expertise, and you never know when you’ll be asked for input during an appointment. Here are a few predictions for what will become even more popular in the world of beauty for 2023:

‘70s Cuts

We all know that trends are cyclical, and ‘70s hair is beginning to make its entrance back into the here and now. Gen Z has famously brought back the mullet, shag, and extra volume. These styles and spinoffs are expected to continue their time in the limelight in 2023.

Lightened Brows

If you watched any fashion shows this year, you may have noticed the barely-there eyebrow look. Although we probably won’t see many people going for bleached brows, brow artists may notice more requests for lightened brows. Brows that are just a shade or two lighter than the client’s natural hair color may be an up-and-coming trend to watch for.

Ballerina Nails

Although oval-shaped and rounded nails are classic and still requested often, ballerina nails are an increasingly popular choice. This nail shape has been donned by celebrities such as Cardi B, Kylie Jenner, and Rihanna, and is defined by its squared off, blunt end. This nail shape works best for longer nails and is an excellent option for clients seeking more room for embellishments or detailed designs.

Golden Brown Tones

Ash blonde enjoyed a long run, but we’re predicting an influx of golden brown tones to hit the scene. Celebrities like Hailey Bieber have said goodbye to blonde hair in favor of warmer golden brown locks. Celebrity stylists recommend adding some definition to the brown, often in the form of honey or golden highlights.

As you make the transition to your new salon lease, it’s important to stay aware of emerging trends. When a client asks for guidance, being prepared with several ideas that are on-trend will be mutually beneficial. Of course, the best thing you can do to elevate the client experience is to invest in a stunning studio. When you’re on the search for a premium location with the best perks around, it doesn’t get better than Indie Salons.
