One of the best factors of being your own boss is the ability to set your own hours and develop a work/life balance that helps you thrive. When setting your hours, aim to make your studio accessible for times that work for your clients.  For some beauty pros, this means going with the flow and setting your schedule according to client needs on a week-by-week basis. For others, a more structured approach is necessary. If you fall into the latter category, be sure to think about your clientele and start taking note of your busiest days. For many stylists, picking a weekend day or a day or two to offer extended hours works well to accommodate clients with busy work schedules.  One way to take clients’ schedules into consideration is to create a survey asking for their preferred day and time for appointments. Contacting clients via email or setting up a poll on your social media accounts (or a Google Form) is a great way to spark engagement and spread the word about the move.

Chat With Your Future Suitemate

If you plan to share a double or triple suite with a partner, or to sublet your private suite with a sharing partner, be sure to sit down for a chat about scheduling before moving in.
