Tips for Handling the Holiday Season as a Beauty Pro
The holiday season is quickly approaching. As a beauty professional, you know what that means–your schedule is about to become packed! If you’ve been thinking about investing in a beauty studio for rent in Boulder, Denver, or Lone Tree (or Cherry Creek in 2022!), now may be the best time to make the move. If you’re looking for strategies to streamline the process of handling the busy holiday season, here are tips to help you:
Decorate Your Studio
When your salon feels cheery and inviting, your clients will always look forward to their visits.
In preparation for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, you may want to brighten up your studio with festive décor. This can be as simple as stringing up some twinkling lights, or as elaborate as creating gift bundles of must-have products and displaying them under a miniature tree or on special shelving.
Make Sure You Prebook for the Holidays and Confirm in Advance
When the holiday season is in full swing, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. During this busy time of year, be sure to prebook all of your clients through the end of the year. (This is a best practice for throughout the year, as well). Your clients will appreciate your thoughtfulness in making sure that they can get in to see you during the holidays. And to minimize the risk of no-shows, make sure you confirm clients’ contact information before their next appointment. Let them know that you (or your booking system) are going to reach out to them to confirm. Reaching out a day or two in advance with a friendly reminder will help keep your salon studio running smoothly.
Show Your Clients You Care
As we learned at our recent education event with Ryan Weeden, the CEO of Masters of Balayage, one way to strengthen your bond and show your clients you care is with a small gesture, such as with a $5 gift card to Starbucks or a local coffee shop. With $50 or $100 worth of gift cards, you can treat a few of your favorite clients and show them your holiday spirit. Moreover, if you’re looking to build your base of clients, the holidays are a good time to say, “You’re one of my favorite clients. Who do you know, like you, who would be a good client for me?” Being specific like this helps them picture who they can send your way. (Thank you Ryan for this great tip, as well).
